Spring and fall are the best times to install sod because of the cooler temperatures and more rainfall. Summer is a good time as well, however, more attention needs to be paid to watering and keeping the new sod wet for the first few weeks during the hottest period of the year.
Sodding your lawn allows you to enjoy instant beauty and maturity without the usual time-consuming hassles of seeding. When purchasing turf, be sure that you are getting the freshest, finest quality turf available.
Watering must be started immediately after the sod is installed. This way you can get started watering while the rest of the sod is being installed.
It is essential that enough water is put down the first time to thoroughly soak the sod and the soil under the sod.
We install sod in some spots or entire lawn. Re-leveling with additional top soil if necessary. We install Raleigh St. Augustine, Tex Turf 10 Bermuda, Tif Green 328 Bermuda and Tif Way 419 Bermuda.
We Charge $450 per pallet (cover 450 sq ft) or $1 per sq ft.
This price include Sod, Delivery and Labor.
Raleigh St. Augustine
Raleigh St. Augustine grass was released by the North Carolina Experiment Station in 1980 as a cold tolerant, SAD resistant strain. Raleigh has a finer texture than Floratam and develops a dense turf much like the Texas Common strain of St. Augustine grass. Raleigh is also more shade tolerant than Floratam.
Raleigh St. Augustine has a medium leaf and stolon size. It is the most shade tolerant warm season grass, although it still requires 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight along with filtered sun. It requires 2 or 3 fertilizer applications per year, with a 3-1-2 ratio fertilizer with slow release nitrogen source. Ideal mowing height is 2 - 3 inches with a rotary mower. It requires 1" of water every 3 weeks during the fall, winter and spring. This increases to a maximum of 1" of water every seven days during the extreme heat of summer. Potential disease problems are gray leaf spot in the summer and brown patch in the fall. Both of these diseases are enhanced by over watering and after fertilization. These diseases can be prevented by an application of a fungicide.

Tifway 419
Tifway Bermuda has a medium fine texture. Tifway has excellent weed and disease resistance, spreads faster than 328 Tifgreen and is superior to 328 Tifgreen and Tiflawn for fairways, tees, athletic fields and similar uses. When cut 1-1/2" to 2", 419 Tifway provides an excellent impact absorbing cushion on playing fields.
Fine bladed semi-dwarf bermuda. It is very similar to Tifgreen except for its greater stiffness of leaf blades and darker green color. Originally developed for golf course fairways and tee boxes. Excellent sports field grass because of it's ability to recover quickly from wear. Must be grown in full sun. May also be used in home lawns. May be mowed either with a rotary or reel type mower. Recommended for golf course tees and fairways, home lawns, athletic fields and tennis courts.
Requires 2 or 3 fertilizer applications per year. Apply 1" of water every 3 weeks during fall, winter and spring. This increases to a maximum of 1" of water every seven days during the extreme heat of summer.

TexTurf 10
TexTurf 10 is a medium-texture, coarse-bladed, dark green variety of Bermuda grass. This is a much more lush grass than common Bermuda. It is relatively free of seed stems, has good wear tolerance, late fall color retention and makes earlier spring recovery than common Bermuda.
This variety also has better leaf disease resistance than common Bermuda, which results in better color in the fall. TexTurf 10 tolerates low nitrogen levels and still provides a darker green, quality turf. This is a good turf for low-maintenance areas, as well as highly maintained sports fields. Its ideal mowing height is 1-2 inches with a rotary mower or a reel type mower. This grass will only grow in full sun.
